Rull is a final-year teen at a secondary school in Bremen. He finds it hard to bear the institution’s strict, authoritarian approach and is constantly looking for ways to rebel. How far can he take it and why does he do what he does? It is the moment of truth for the 1968 generation in West Germany, with satirical overtones and bitter social criticism. In this, the first feature film by legendary stage director Peter Zadek, he creates a fragmented, unique form of dialogue using Brechtian tools and blending genres. At its debut the film won a Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival.
